Man arrested for animal cruelty

Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to a domestic dispute at a trailer home Friday night found 13 dogs, many of them injured in ways “consistent with dog fighting,” according to a criminal complaint filed in Metro Court.
Antonio Bornot, age 48, was charged with eight counts of cruelty to animals.
Among the dogs there were 11 pitbulls, one Chihuahua and one Doberman, according to the complaint.
Four of the dogs were locked in a bedroom with cuts to their chests, shoulders and legs, with no food or water and covered in feces, according to the complaint.
Four pitbulls were locked in cages outside with cuts to their faces and shoulders. One had a broken leg with no brace or cast. They also had no food or water, according to the complaint.
