6:39 p.m. – The FBI released the name of the man shot in the neck early Tuesday morning at a Sandia Resort Casino parking lot, and a bureau spokesman said the victim has been released from the hospital.
Luis Tobanche, 32, was shot once in the neck around 2:45 a.m. in the casino’s underground parking lot. The shooter fired the weapon from a car and then drove away.
No suspect or vehicle information has been found, the FBI spokesman said. Those who might have information are asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300.
The FBI and Sandia Police Department continue to investigate a shooting that injured a 32-year-old Albuquerque man early Tuesday.
Luis Tobanche suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, and was treated and released at University of New Mexico Hospital.
The shooting happened at about 2:45 a.m. Tuesday when someone in a car shot Tobanche and then drove away in the underground parking lot at Sandia Casino.
No vehicle information is available. Anyone with information is asked to call the Albuquerque FBI Office at 505-889-1300 (24 hours).
In addition to the FBI and Sandia Police, other agencies that responded include the Albuquerque Police Department, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Business resumed at 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from the pueblo.
“The tribal leadership’s number one concern is always the safety of both our guests
and our employees. “We take every precaution to ensure everyone is safe while at any our
entities,” tribal governor Victor Montoya said in the statement.
A gunfight in an underground parking lot at Sandia Casino has left one man with a gunshot wound in his neck and another man at large, authorities told KOAT-TV.
Authorities said the victim was exchanging gunfire with someone driving a car in the underground garage, Action 7 News reported.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to a hospital, and there is no immediate word on his condition, according to KOAT-TV.
The driver fled the scene, the station is reporting.
Sandia Pueblo police are handling the investigation, KOAT-TV said.
According to KRQE News 13, the shooting took place around 3 a.m.

KOAT-TV is reporting that a man was shot in the neck in the basement parking lot at Sandia Casino early this morning and has been taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The suspected shooter remains on the loose, according to Action 7 News.
Sandia Pueblo police have taken over the investigation of the incident, which had involved both Sandoval County and Bernalillo County sheriff’s officers, KOAT-TV said.
According to the KOAT report, a high-speed chase ended at the casino where shots were fired early this morning.
The casino closed, as usual for a weekday, at 4 a.m., but it was unknown whether the casino would reopen at 8 a.m. today, according to KOAT-TV.
