Lovelace Westside Hospital has been ranked among the top 100 hospitals in the U.S. by Truven Health Analytics based on its overall organizational performance.
The Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals study released in late February evaluates performance in 10 areas, including mortality, medical complications, patient safety, average patient stay, adherence to clinical standards of care, profitability and patient satisfaction.
Truven Health researchers evaluated 2,922 short-term acute-care non-federal hospitals using public information such as Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider Analysis data and patient satisfaction data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Hospital Compare website.
Lovelace was the only hospital in New Mexico to make the list. It was included in the Small Community Hospitals category.
Truven Health Analytics provides analytic tools and benchmark information to the healthcare industry.
