Simple enough for a child

Why, as Americans, are we allowing our representatives, senators and president to act like spoiled children with no understanding of what Americans need and deserve?

Why does the administration continually blame the Republicans for the sequester when it admittedly came from the White House. Why are they moaning about these “draconian” cuts when in reality they are just adjustments for future spending?

Why are the cuts not made in Washington, which has an uncanny ability to waste money through overpayments for contracts and fraud? Pay decreases should be in order for lack of performance and pensions cut to a reasonable level.

People across America, aside from elite politicos in Washington, have cut their budgets to deal with increases in food, electricity and fuel. None of these problems were necessary if the administration would get back to the most pressing problem facing the country today.

One easy way would be energy production which could drastically cut our unemployment, food stamp and welfare expenditures and increase the federal take through the gain in tax revenue by the hiring of employees by private companies who would then be liable to pay their income taxes.

It would also aide in the recovery by people having money in their pockets and releasing some at restaurants, theaters and the many other businesses people frequent when they have money in the pocket.

I am tired of watching our supposed leaders telling us that they know what is best for us. My 10-year-old many years ago figured that if he worked for pay he was able to purchase a basketball and save for a vehicle (important purchases for a 10-year-old to save for).

Now if a 10-year-old can figure this out, why can’t these elite people who have had the advantage of a college education put their brains around this and work on solutions? We, as Americans, have no one to blame but ourselves for letting these politicos keep all their jobs, their health care and their exclusive pensions.

It’s time to vote out the politicos in Washington, whether Democrat or Republican, and bring in some real people who have had to work off a budget, know how to balance a budget, know how to tell the truth and don’t look at opposite political parties as “the enemy.”

We all are Americans and we want you to work for us and not against us.

We can no longer sit on the fence. We must make an effort to regain our strength in the world by showing them that America can overcome its financial problems by hard work and a goal.

We need to be making the products that we now purchase from China. We need to make our own solar panels, wind turbines, produce our own energy here with the environment being a priority.

We need to put in small nuclear plants that are more localized so we can produce power at a cheaper rate.

We need to send the illegal immigrants released from internment back to wherever so they can begin the legal procedure to come back if they wish.

We need to quit sending large amounts of money to countries that do not like us, who have never liked us and in reality will probably never like us.

These problems are huge, but the America that I knew could easily tackle these issues.

Think hard about who you vote for. Look at their records and not their rhetoric. Check out their voting history and try to get active in the delegate procedure so we do get new blood in the political system.

We cannot continue down this road. We are better than this.
