Music, dinosaurs and dance, oh my!
The Figueroa Music and Dance Project is presenting Darius Milhaud’s “Creation of the World,” and Bruce Adolph’s narrated musical account of the life story of “Tyrannosaurus Sue: A Cretaceous Concerto” at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at the KiMo Theater, 423 W. Central. Milhaud’s “Creation” was richly colored by the influence of his 1920s infatuation with American jazz music. Adolph’s composition occasionally is reminiscent of the drive and energy of Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring.”
The music for the adults will provide a rich backdrop for Adolph’s cretaceous story line for the children and the short Milhaud ballet, presented by Festival Ballet Albuquerque. Tickets are $15-$35 at www.kimotickets.com.
