Bruised and bloodied chase suspect booked into jail after hospital visit

The second man accused of leading police on a destructive and dangerous high-speed car chase Saturday has been booked into the county jail on myriad charges, including multiple charges of attempted murder as well as aggravated eluding.

Much of 24-year-old Glenn Garcia’s face is bruised, as can be seen on the suspect’s mugshot photo taken upon his entrance into the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center on Monday afternoon.

An Albuquerque Police Department spokesman said Garcia sustained the injuries when he and alleged accomplice Felix Romero went on a citywide chase and fired at officers’ vehicles along the way. One APD K-9 vehicle was disabled after taking multiple gunshots.

Garcia was released from the hospital and immediately booked Monday afternoon into MDC, where he’s facing seven attempted murder charges, in addition to counts for drugs, firing from a vehicle, owning a gun and dozens of conspiracy charges.

Also, Meagan Garcia, 20, was booked into MDC on Sunday and charged with harboring a felon and heroin possession. Police said Garcia helped Romero evade police by dropping him off in a neighborhood while undercover officers were tailing the suspect.
