Alamogordo officials to mull texting ban

ALAMOGORDO — City officials in Alamogordo are considering whether to approve a proposal that would prohibit drivers from talking on their cell phones or texting while they’re driving.

The Alamogordo Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/Y8UzgS) that city commissioners will take up the proposal Tuesday.

The proposed ban wouldn’t apply to people who make emergency calls to authorities or those who use hands-free devices.
