Person resembling missing Mich. woman seen in N.M.

HOLLAND, Mich.— Authorities say a person resembling a 36-year-old Michigan woman who has been missing since last month has been seen in New Mexico.

Police in the Michigan city of Holland say a vehicle with a license plate matching the number on Emelene VanDyke’s car was seen Sunday by a stationary unmanned license plate reader near Alamogordo.

Police say photos show the car appears to be the Hyundai Accent that VanDyke was driving and a woman resembling her looked to be the only occupant.

Officials in New Mexico are looking for the vehicle.

VanDyke was reported missing Feb. 19 after she didn’t go to work.

Police earlier said she may have been headed to northern Michigan after buying a car and taking out money from a bank. Camping gear was missing from her home.
