Alabama Shakes is coming to the Duke City.

The Grammy nominated band will perform on July 15 at Popejoy Hall. Tickets for the show are $36.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15 at www.unmtickets.com or by phone at 505-925-5858 or 877-664-8661.

Alabama Shakes recently wrapped up its spring headline tour and is headed to Latin America which include a set at Lollapalooza in Brazil and Chile.

It’s debut album, “Boys & Girls” has sold more than 100,000 copies and now is certified gold at 500,000 copies sold.

The band’s lead off single, “Hold On” was voted No. 1 best song of 2012 by Rolling Stone and the video has had more than five million views on YouTube.

Alabama Shakes is comprised of vocalist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, drummer Steven Johnson and bassist Zac Cockrell. They are based out of Athens, Ga.
