BREAKING: SWAT situation in NE ABQ

6:25am UPDATE: “We are currently dealing with a barricaded subject who is claiming to be armed,” Officer Robert Gibbs of the Albuquerque Police Department said in a news advisory. “SWAT was activated and is on scene.”

Gibbs said the situation grew out of domestic violence.


An armed man has barricaded himself in a home in northeast Albuquerque near Osuna and Wyoming, KOAT-TV is reporting.

According to the Action 7 News reporter on the scene, the situation grew out of a domestic dispute, SWAT officers were deployed and the male subject, who is believed to be armed, has refused to come out of the home on the 8500 block of Prestina Place NE.
