The Sandia Ranger District is continuing its Hondo Prescribed Burn today, about a mile and a half north on Interstate 40 and the village of Tijeras and west of the Forest Park subdivision on U.S. Forest Service lands, the ranger district said in a news release.
Today’s burn is a continuation of a fuels reduction program that consumed 10 acres on Monday, and forest officials hope to complete 10 to 20 more acres today if weather permits, the release said.
