Toastiest temperatures of the year

New Mexico will flirt with record warm temperatures today as a heat wave brings the warmest temperatures of the year to much of the state.

For Albuquerque, the forecast around the metro area calls for highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s, according to the National Weather Service.

The record high for March 15 at the airport weather station is 77, set in 2007, according to Weather Service forecaster Todd Shoemake.

The forecast calls for continued unseasonably warm weather through the weekend, but windier, with the next chance of precipitation for New Mexico not appearing until late next week at the earliest.
