A helmeted motorcyclist was struck and killed Friday afternoon after passing through a West Side intersection, and the driver suspected of hitting him was possibly driving drunk, Albuquerque police said.
The motorcyclist was heading south on Unser NW before 6 p.m. on Friday. As the motorcyclist passed through the intersection at Molten Rock Road, a vehicle rammed the motorcycle, killing its driver.
Police later questioned the driver, who was suspected of being drunk at the time of the crash, police said.
Officers shut down the intersection and sections of north- and southbound Unser as they investigated.
The intersection is about half a mile north of where Atrisco Drive NW meets Unser.
Police hadn’t released either driver’s name as of Friday evening.
