Boy, 10, found with pot at school

A 10-year-old boy was found to be in possession of marijuana Tuesday at Kearny Elementary School, according to Santa Fe Police Capt. Aric Wheeler.

Wheeler did not have much information about the case, which was still under investigation. He did not know how the marijuana was found or how much the youth allegedly had. Wheeler said no one has been charged with a crime.

Police informed the Children Youth and Families Department, which is conducting an investigation.

Rings worth $840 stolen in SF Arcade

A man grabbed a display case of rings at Amber Collections in the Santa Fe Arcade on Tuesday, according to Santa Fe Police.

Capt. Aric Wheeler said the theft was reported at about noon. The display contained about 14 custom rings and was worth about $840, he said. The suspect was described as 6 feet tall with a shaved head, wearing a baggy Dallas Cowboys Jersey. He got away on foot before police arrived.

Get a free vaccine for pneumonia

The Santa Fe County Health and Human Services Division will host a free pneumonia vaccination clinic at 1:30 p.m. today at the Santa Fe County Nambé Senior and Community Center.

The clinic is sponsored by Santa Fe County Health and Human Services Division and Presbyterian Española Hospital.

Santa Fe County seniors can reserve a free ride to the clinic by calling 505-992-3069.
