An accident on eastbound Interstate 40 near 12th Street has all eastbound lanes of I-40 closed. Traffic is being diverted off the interstate at the 6th/8th Street exit.
Albuquerque police report that a woman was thrown from her car during a collision with another vehicle. She was transported to University of New Mexico Hospital.
Drivers are encouraged to expect delays and avoid the area.
