Two hospitalized with gunshot wounds

A man and woman with gunshot wounds to the back of their heads flagged down a police officer Saturday and were taken to a hospital, Albuquerque Police spokesman Officer Robert Gibbs said.

Gibbs said police had no other information about how or why the shootings occurred. The investigation is ongoing, according to an email from Gibbs.

Both victims are reported to be in satisfactory condition , according to an email update from Gibbs.

The shooting victims were in a vehicle when the shootings occurred, Gibbs said. The man stopped the car at Domingo and Alvarado, where he flagged down an officer. The vehicle was riddled with bullet holes, Gibbs said.

Officers at the scene located the original crime scene as being in the parking lot of the Cinnamon Tree apartments on Central just east of Louisiana.
