Elaine Jo will present a program on Ichiyo School Ikebana on April 3 at the Tanoan Country Club.

Elaine Jo, an executive master of Ichiyo, will present “Ichiyo School Ikebana — Blending Traditional and Modern Forms” at 11:30 a.m. April 3 at the Tanoan Country Club.

The Ikebana International Chapter 41 of Albuquerque is sponsoring the program, which is open to the public. A luncheon will follow.

Jo, of Atlanta, is a flower arranging teacher, demonstrator and exhibitor of the Ichiyo School of Ikebana. Ikebana is the Japanese art of floral arranging.

Jo lived in Tokyo for 25 years and received her master’s degree from the Ichiyo School of Ikebana during that period. After moving to the United States in 1989, she began teaching and giving ikebana workshops and demonstrations.

In 1998 she was awarded an executive master’s degree by the Ichiyo School. Only two others have this title in the United States.

The fee for the event is $45, which includes the 1 1/2-hour demonstration and luncheon. For reservations, call Agnes at 857-9718 or Peggy at 321-1154 by March 25.
