Bank of the West robbed in SW Albuquerque

According to the FBI, a man robbed the Bank of the West on 5228 Central Avenue SW shortly before 3.p.m. Monday.

The FBI and APD are looking for a suspect described as a Hispanic man with a dark complexion, approximately 6’2″ tall with a slender build and in his mid-30s.

The suspect was wearing sunglasses, a black hooded sweatshirt with a large white cross on it, a black baseball cap with a blue bill, blue jeans, and black and white running shoes. He was carrying a blue and black backpack.

Witnesses say the suspected entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money from the teller, the suspect was last seen walking east on Central Avenue NW.

Anyone with information about this bank robbery is asked to call the Albuquerque FBI Office at (505) 889-1300 (24 hours) or Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (505) 843-STOP.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the suspect’s arrest and conviction.
