Former Las Cruces coach faces molestation charge

LAS CRUCES — A former Las Cruces middle school basketball coach has been indicted on a charge of molesting a young boy during physical exam.

The Las Cruces Sun-News reports (http://bit.ly/10AVVTu) that 33-year-old Erik B. Khan was charged with second-degree criminal sexual contact with a minor.

Authorities allege Khan fondled in May 2007 and used his position of authority to coerce him.

Kahn is already awaiting a federal trial on child pornography charges and has been in custody at the since May.

Authorities have said earlier that that sometime prior to the 2007 basketball season, Khan allegedly performed physical exams on Picacho Middle School student-athletes in a locker room.
