Martinez to sign bill creating Silver Alert for N.M.

Gov. Susana Martinez on Monday will sign into law legislation creating a statewide Silver Alert program to help locate missing people with dementia and other conditions.

The Silver Alert program will notify law enforcement agencies when a person suffering from Alzheimer’s, dementia, or brain injury goes missing.

The signing is to take place at noon in Albuquerque at the New Mexico chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
