FBI seeks info on fatal N.M. hit and run

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking information on a hit-and-run crash on the Navajo Nation in northwest New Mexico last month that killed 56-year-old Loretta Silversmith, The Daily Times in Farmington reported.

Silversmith was killed by a car near Sheep Springs on U.S. 491 in the late hours of March 5 or early March 6 north of a convenience store, according to an FBI news release.

Investigators found a mirror that may belong to a Dodge Stratus or a Plymouth Breeze from 1996 to 2000, according to The Daily Times.

Anyone with information about a person driving a car with a missing passenger side mirror that fits the description or someone attempting to buy such a mirror is asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300.
