Rio Rancho police were investigating a serious two vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital, including one woman with serious injuries.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. at Idalia and Broadmoor, according to Rio Rancho police spokesman Nick Onken.
One woman was trapped in her car with life threatening injuries. She was freed and flown by Lifeguard helicopter to University Hospital.
The second driver was transported to an area hospital as a precaution. The intersection will remain closed while the crash investigation continues, Onken said.
