Library Corner: Library touts Learning Express exam practice database

The Rio Rancho Public Library would like to introduce the public to the Learning Express exam practice database. According to the Learning Express Library website, the database is a comprehensive, interactive online learning platform of practice tests and tutorial course series designed to help patrons, students and adult learners succeed on the academic or licensing tests they must pass.

The database will provide users with immediate scoring, complete answer explanations, and an individualized analysis of their results. Library patrons may access the database from inside the library or from the comfort of their home. If accessing Learning Express from home, you will need to enter your Rio Rancho Library card number.

The program allows the user to practice the same test as often as they wish and if they don’t finish, they can save and pickup where they left off. Examples of some of the exams available include civil service, firefighter, GED, ASVAB, college entrance exams, law enforcement, nursing, real estate, citizenship and many more.

Users can access Learning Express from a home computer by going to the library’s website, ci.rio-rancho.nm.us/library.htm, clicking on search databases, scrolling down the screen until they see the link for “Education and Employment” and then the link for Learning Express. If you are in the library, go to the adult information desk and ask for assistance to get started.

Rob Nankin, Esther Bone Memorial Library branch manager, states that this program is an invaluable tool for library patrons. “The library tries to keep print exam guides on its shelves, but they are very popular and frequently checked out. Learning Express Library allows the patron 24/7 access to its vast resources of exam study materials.”

You may visit either the Loma Colorado Main Library at 755 Loma Colorado Dr. NE or the Esther Bone Memorial Library at 950 Pinetree Rd. SE for assistance with the Learning Express program.

Help is also available over the telephone at 891-5012 or 891-5013.
