Two Durango men have been arrested by the Southwest Drug Task Force on charges of distributing controlled substances, including heroin, The Durango Herald reported.
Jonathan Huehl, 30, is being held in the La Plata County (Colo.) jail without bail, accused of selling heroin and methamphetamine and attempted distribution, The Herald said. Huehl also is wanted for an alleged parole violation out of California.
The second man, Jay Gaskin, 33, is being held on unrelated heroin possession charges in the San Juan County jail in Farmington, and is facing distribution charges in Colorado after a March 28 search warrant turned up 20 grams of heroin in the vehicle he was driving, according to The Herald.
“He had been arrested on a couple of warrants when we executed the search,” Lt. Pat Downs, director of the task force, told the paper. “I don’t know how many doses 20 grams is, but it’s a lot, and 20 grams is definitely indicative of intent to distribute.”
Both arrests followed months of investigation by the task force, which includes investigators from the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, the Ignacio and Durango police departments and the Bayfield Marshal’s Office, The Herald said.
