Accused killer Ricardo “Rico” Sena appeared in court Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge in the stabbing death last Saturday of 17-year-old Devin Saiz, but no plea was entered, the Clovis News Journal reported.
Sena, 26, was ordered held without bond and will face a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. next Tuesday in Clovis Magistrate Court, the News Journal said.
Three people, including Saiz, were stabbed at party in Clovis Saturday, the paper reported.
Saiz was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, and two others, Jose Lopez, 23, and Javier Bara, 20, were treated for stab wounds.
Sena and an unidentified 17-year-old female were arrested about 16 hours after the incident by a special investigative unit consisting of Clovis police officers, investigators from the District Attorney’s Office and Curry County sheriff’s deputies, the News Journal said.
