NM UI Tax & Claims System hours expanded

The state Department of Workforce Solutions has extended the hours for its new Unemployment Insurance Tax & Claims System for approximately 23,000 claimants and 45,000 employers across the state.

The online system will now be available Sunday through Friday from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Every week, about half of all the UI claims filed and 70 percent of certifications for benefits are filed via the online system, the department said in a news release.

And more than 35,000 employers have activated their accounts in the system and can now take advantage of self-service online including electronically filing wage reports and viewing notices of claim filings.

“Increasing the time that someone can log in to the system, particularly adding an hour in the evenings, will allow additional time to access the system and more opportunity for those who need to view their account, update information, or check the status of a claim,” said Cabinet Secretary Celina Bussey.

The system can be accessed through the main NMDWS website at www.dws.state.nm.us, or individuals can go directly to the New Mexico Workforce Connection site at www.jobs.state.nm.us.

The hours for the UI Operations Center, for those who need to speak to a Customer Service Agent, will remain the same from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The UI Operations Center can be reached via the 1-877-NM-4-MYUI (1-877-664-6984) toll-free number.
