PLAY Conservatory will perform “Escape From Titanic” next Sunday on the 101st anniversary of Titanic’s sinking.
Based on the Senate hearing transcripts and survivor accounts, “Escape From Titanic” is a memory play told through the eyes of J. Bruce Ismay, president of the White Star Line at the time of the disaster and himself a survivor of the wreck. Now at the end of his life, he anguishes over his role in the catastrophe, as voices from the past torment him.
Nineteen young actors ages 11 to 18, who have been coached in ensemble work and various dialects, will play more than 70 roles.

The original play by Jonathan Dunski made its debut in 2012 with a production directed by Ryan Morris. It is being developed specifically as a play for young audiences.
The running time is one hour and 30 minutes with no intermission.
