A Rio Rancho man has pleaded no contest to beating his father to death and breaking his brother’s jaw in 2010.
As per the plea agreement, signed March 25, Sebastian Largo, now 30, pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and aggravated battery with great bodily harm, third-degree felonies that could bring a total sentence of nine years imprisonment, according to court documents. He will also have to pay restitution as determined by Adult Probation and Parole.
According to police reports quoted in the Observer, Sebastian Largo’s brother, Sabin Largo, told police Sebastian Largo became violent March 2, 2010. Sabin Largo tried to calm his brother while their 61-year-old father, Sam Largo, slept.
Sabin Largo said he went to the bathroom and came out to find Sebastian Largo on top of their father, hitting him. When he intervened, Sabin Largo told police, Sebastian Largo punched him, breaking his jaw, and left with his phone.
Sabin Largo called 911 from a neighbor’s house. His father died without regaining consciousness.
