Fire hits business at 2nd & Candelaria

9:45am UPDATE: The fire at a business at 3718 2nd NW has been extinguished, and firefighters were continuing to look for hot spots, according to Albuquerque Fire Department spokeswoman Melissa Romero.

Damage was confined to the rear of the building which had been converted to a business, and no injuries were reported, Romero said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.


 

Albuquerque Fire Department units responded to a fire just after 8:30 a.m. today at a house that had been converted into a business at 3718 2nd NW near Candelaria, AFD spokeswoman Melissa Romero said in a news advisory.

Firefighters have knocked down most of the fire but continue to work to fully extinguish the blaze, Romero said.

No injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, all northbound lanes of 2nd Street have been closed from Candelaria to Veranda.
