SFPS forum talks strategies Wed.

Santa Fe Public Schools has scheduled a community forum from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the strategies and plans for the district’s information technology network conversion.

The discussion, to be held at the Educational Services Center, 610 Alta Vista St., will highlight the goals, architecture, costs and timeline for establishing a robust foundation on which to support classroom transformation in a blended learning environment.

Website names SF Top 10 Foodie City

Santa Fe has been named a Top 10 Foodie City by Livability.com, a national website that ranks quality of life and travel amenities of America’s small and mid-sized cities.

For this list, Livability.com editors sniffed out cities with a high ratio of acclaimed restaurants, innovative chefs and strong regional culinary styles to their population size.

The cities that made this year’s list have invigorating restaurant scenes, chefs adapting traditional dishes into edible art, and communities supporting local farmers and food producers.

In Santa Fe, chefs create combinations of flavors and dishes that bring accolades from national food critics, with everything from burritos, barbecue and burgers to Italian and Middle Eastern cuisine, according to the website.

Locals can pick up regional wines, grass-fed meats, fresh produce, eggs and honey year round at Santa Fe Farmers Market, it said. Cooking schools like the Santa Fe Culinary Academy, Las Cosas Kitchen Shoppe, and the Santa Fe School of Cooking teach the ins and outs of preparing fine meals.

The Top 10 Foodie Cities it listed for this year are: (1) Decatur, Ga.; (2) Hoboken, N.J.; (3) Bloomington, Ind.; (4) Berkeley, Calif.; (5) Madison, Wis.; (6) Lafayette, La.; (7) Chapel Hill, N.C.; (8) Santa Fe; (9) Alexandria, Va.; and (10) Burlington, Vt.
