All lanes are back open on westbound Interstate 40 at Sedillo Hill, and traffic is getting back up to speed, according to KKOB Radio’s Joe Gonzales.
The road has been salted, but drivers are still being urged to use caution since there are icy spots on the highway, Bernalillo County sheriff’s Sgt. Aaron Williamson said in a news advisory.

All lanes of westbound Interstate 40 at the Sedillo Hill exit have been shut down as a result of an accident this morning, KKOB Radio’s Joe Gonzales is reporting.
Westbound traffic is being diverted to N.M. 333, Gonzales said.
Icy conditions have been reported on the highway.
6:48am — Crash on WB I-40 at Sedillo Hill
A crash has closed the right lane of westbound Interstate 40 at the Sedillo/N.M. 306 exit, and drivers are being urged to expect delays and use caution, according to the state Department of Transportation website.
Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies are on the scene, and there is some possibility the center lane may also be shut down, according to radio dispatchers.
Authorities are reporting icy conditions in the area, KOB-TV is reporting.
Westbound traffic is being diverted at Sedillo Hill onto Old Route 66, according to KKOB Radio’s Joe Gonzales.
There is no report yet on what caused the crash, how many vehicles are involved or the extent of injuries, but westbound traffic is definitely being impacted.
