S.F. paper to charge for website access

The Santa Fe New Mexican today launched a pay model for access to its website, the paper reported Tuesday.

Registration is free and involves entering only an email address, and all readers will be prompted to register with the fifth article, The New Mexican said.

Registered readers will be asked after reading the 10th article if they would like to subscribe, and each month the article count will be reset — making 10 articles available for free each month to non-subscribers.
