Springer woman, 19, missing in Ariz.

A 19-year-0ld Springer woman who went to Phoenix with her boyfriend in January has been missing since she stepped outside of a Scottsdale medical plaza to have a smoke, The Raton Range reported.

Genevieve Selina Gonzales, went missing March 8 from the medical plaza in the Phoenix suburb.

According to a report in the Arizona Republic, Scottsdale police spokesman Mark Clark said Gonzales was with her boyfriend and his mother when she disappeared.

Clark said Gonzales had stepped outside the medical plaza at 9377 E. Bell Road to smoke a cigarette as she waited for a taxi and never returned, the Republic said. It was raining and hailing at the time.

According to Clark, Gonzales did not have any money or a cellphone and doesn’t know anyone other than her boyfriend and his mother in the Phoenix area.

Family members in New Mexico and Colorado have not heard from her since March 4, according to the Republic.

Police in Arizona said Gonzales has no known medical or mental-health issues and foul play is not suspected at this time, the paper reported.

Gonzales’ father, Eugene Gonzales of Springer, told The Raton Range that he speaks with police in Scottsdale every few days and has not heard of any new developments.

Gonzales told The Range he believes his daughter has been abducted.

“She wouldn’t just take off,” he told the paper. “If she could have called me, she would have by now.”

Gonzales said he and Selina’s mother, Vangie Archuleta of Pagosa Springs, Colo., went to the Phoenix area in the days following their daughter’s disappearance and stayed there for about two weeks, The Range said.

Gonzales said his daughter has lived with him in Springer since she was in the sixth grade and that she graduated from Springer High School last May, the paper reported. She and her boyfriend, who also lives in Springer, went to Phoenix in the second week in January to look for work.
