1 Dead, 1 Hurt in Shooting

Journal Staff Report
A double shooting Monday in Southwest Albuquerque left a man dead and a 9-year-old girl injured, Albuquerque police spokeswoman Nadine Hamby said.
The shooting happened about 6 p.m. on the 7700 block of Crepe Myrtle SW, and Hamby said the man died at the scene. The girl was taken to University of New Mexico Hospital, where her condition was unknown Monday night.
Police were investigating the case into the night, and Hamby said it was still unclear what the relationship was between the man and the girl, and whether other people were at the home. Police were interviewing witnesses Monday, but had not taken anyone into custody. The man's death is the 28th homicide this year in Bernalillo County.
