Public Invited To Get Insurance Information

By Journal Staff Report

The New Mexico Human Services Department has scheduled six public meetings about the State Coverage Insurance program.
"We are asking the people of New Mexico to contribute to the conversation the state is having about the SCI program and how it can be improved to better serve the citizens of the state," Carolyn Ingram, HSD Medical Assistance Division director, said in a statement.
The SCI program is a public/private program for uninsured adults between 19 and 64 years old with incomes below 200 percent of the federal poverty level. Employers, employees and the state share the cost of the insurance.
Federal funding changes may mean revisions to the program, such as moving adults without children to a Medicaid waiver program.
For information, contact the Insure New Mexico Solutions Center at 1-888-997-2583 or visit
