I-40 Reduced To Two Lanes

Journal Staff Report
       Another reminder, drivers.
Traffic lanes on westbound Interstate 40 between Wyoming and San Mateo will be reduced from three to two lanes by the Tuesday morning commute, the state Department of Transportation advises.
Ongoing area roadwork is expanding Monday evening, which is forcing the change.
Drivers will see the lane drop starting at Wyoming. The three-lane configuration will return at San Mateo. The lane reduction will be in place for about 45 days.
Crews also will have to close the Wyoming on-ramp to westbound I-40 for 45 days.
Eastbound I-40 in the same area also will be reduced to two lanes in the near future.
The DOT is reconstructing I-40 between San Mateo and Pennsylvania, a nearly $20 million project scheduled for completion in December.
