Two County Residents Charged With Medicaid Fraud

Associated Press
Two Bernalillo County residents have been indicted on charges of Medicaid fraud and conspiracy.
A county grand jury returned indictments against Abrian Ortiz and Tami Menzel on two counts of Medicaid fraud over $20,000 and a count of conspiracy.
The indictments, announced today by Attorney General Patricia Madrid, allege the pair provided Medicaid-funded personal care services that were inadequate or submitted false claims for services between April 2002 and December 2005.
Medicaid fraud is punishable by up to nine years in prison; the conspiracy charge is punishable by up to three years.
