Albuquerque Marine Killed in Iraq

The Associated Press
A Marine from Albuquerque was among those killed this week in Iraq's Al Anbar Province, Sen. Pete Domenici said Wednesday.
Pfc. Christopher Ramos died Monday, and the Marine Corps has recommended him for a purple heart, Domenici said after receiving notification from the Marine Corps.
"I am so sad that once again violence in Iraq has hit home," the senator said in a statement. "I am sad that this young life has been lost and extend my deepest sympathies to his family."
Domenici said the nation can be grateful for Ramos' dedication of his life to his country and "appreciate his family and those who shaped him to be a patriot."
The senator urged Americans to "stiffen our resolve and finish our work to bring peace and democracy to Iraq."
The battle for Fallujah, which is in Al Anbar Province, continued Wednesday.
Five Marines were reported killed Monday, but details of Ramos' death were not immediately available.
