This 4th, Celebrate and Get Home Safely

       It's the Fourth of July weekend and time to celebrate.
    But here are some things to keep in mind.
    If you have celebrated too much:
    n Call AAA New Mexico Tipsy Tow at (800) 222-4357. The free service is available from 6 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Saturday. A AAA membership card is not required. Anyone can request a tow, but your request will be denied if your vehicle is inoperable or if you want to be taken to another bar.
    n Call Safe Ride Home. This free service is available from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday. A bar employee must call for a taxi on your behalf . The service takes customers anywhere within Bernalillo County.
    n Taxicabs will be available Downtown at Central and Third Street. Central will be closed between Third and Fifth Streets on Friday and Saturday.
    Fireworks regulations:
    n Within the city: A firework is legal if it is a ground device. It is illegal if it is an aerial device such as a mortor shell or a rocket, Albuquerque Fire Chief Robert Ortega said. People can report the use of illegal fireworks to a temporary hot line at 833-7335 from 8 p.m. Thursday to about 1 a.m. Friday and continuing every night at 8 p.m. until Sunday.
    n Within the county: The use of fireworks is prohibited in the unincorporated areas east of Louisiana Boulevard to the Sandia Mountains. Fireworks are also prohibited on the east side of the Sandia Mountains and within 1,000 feet of the bosque.
    n Cibola National Forest: Fireworks of any kind are prohibited. Cibola personnel will patrol the roads, campgrounds and picnic areas throughout the holiday weekend.
