Rawson Requests Voter Fraud Inquiry

Associated Press
LAS CRUCES — State Sen. Leonard Lee Rawson, R-Las Cruces, has asked the Doña Ana County Bureau of Elections to look into potential voter fraud ahead of the Nov. 4 general election.
Rawson named 32 people in state Senate District 37, which he represents, who he believes have been registered multiple times to vote.
In an e-mail to county officials, Rawson asked what they are doing to prevent voter fraud because the public and candidates must have confidence in the process.
He made the comments in an e-mail to the county elections supervisor, Lynn Ellins, who is on leave to run for county clerk, and Mario Jimenez, who is filling in for Ellins.
Jimenez said duplicate names will be checked and should be removed before the election.
