N.M. To Get Trade Adjustment Funds

Associated Press
New Mexico is slated to receive more than $3 million in federal trade adjustment assistance to help workers who have lost their jobs due to outsourcing or international trade.
New Mexico Sens. Jeff Bingaman and Tom Udall said the funds from the U.S. Department of Labor will help provide unemployment insurance, retraining and reimbursable health care tax credits.
Bingaman says New Mexico's work force, like the rest of the nation, has suffered the consequences of outsourcing.
The funds will be administered through the state Department of Workforce Solutions.
