Alamosa Swears in First Female Mayor

Associated Press
ALAMOSA, Colo. — Alamosa has sworn in its first female mayor.
Kathy Rogers took office Wednesday night. She replaces former Mayor Farris Bervig, who retired after 24 years.
Rogers was mayor pro tem before winning the open seat in municipal elections earlier this month. Her first council meeting included zoning questions, employee pay plans and discussion of new sun shelters over city-owned picnic tables.
