Cancer Awareness Push Offers Free Mammograms

       LAS CRUCES — Organizers of the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign in Las Cruces said 300 women can get a free mammogram this year.
    Laura Conniff, a member of the New Mexico State University Board of Regents, said the campaign has been successful at raising awareness and money for breast cancer prevention. This year, the plan was to expand it to help screen women.
    The mammograms will be provided by Mountain View Regional Medical Center, Memorial Medical Center, the Imaging Center of Las Cruces and Sunview Imaging Services.
    Other events in this year's Tough Enough campaign include a program to assist men whose partners have breast cancer and a seminar by the University of New Mexico Cancer Treatment Center.
