State, Cities, Air Force Sign Clean Energy Pacts

Associated Press
SANTA FE — The state, the U.S. Air Force and three New Mexico cities enter into agreements to pursue clean energy projects.
The potential projects include supplying solar power to Holloman Air Force Base near Alamogordo, creating a plant near Clovis to convert dairy waste to energy, and a wind energy project in the Clovis area.
There also could be a project in the Albuquerque area to supply alternative energy to Kirtland Air Force Base.
Assistant Air Force Secretary Bill Anderson says these are the first such agreements the Air Force has signed with a state.
If the projects materalize, the Air Force could be a customer for energy produced from renewable resources.
