Colorado Teen Suspected in Mother, Stepfather's Deaths Appears in Court

Associated Press
DEL NORTE, Colo. — The first court appearance of a 14-year-old boy accused of killing his mother and stepfather was closed to the public and a judge ordered everyone involved in the case to not talk about it.
Prosecutors and defense attorneys asked a Rio Grande County judge to close the boy's hearing Friday but it wasn't immediately known why.
Authorities say the boy is suspected of killing 38-year-year-old Tracy Aaron Rinebarger and 34-year-old Joanna Marlee Rinebarger.
A relative found the couple's bodies at their home Tuesday afternoon. Authorities have not said how they were killed.
Police arrested the boy about an hour north of his parent's home near Monte Vista, about 215 miles south of Denver.
The sheriff had said he expected charges against the boy to be filed Friday.
