Roswell Man Arrested in Double Murder

Associated Press
ROSWELL — A 23-year-old Roswell man has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly shooting a man and a woman he said was his girlfriend.
Aaron Daugherty was charged with two counts of first degree murder for the shooting deaths Saturday of 25-year-old Valerie York and 23-year-old Mark Koenig.
Authorities found the two victims dead in a Roswell trailer with gunshot wounds to their heads.
Police said a passer-by saw the shootings. Police stopped Daugherty in his car a short time later.
Police said Daugherty told them York was his girlfriend and he became enraged after he saw her kissing Koenig outside the trailer.
Daugherty was being held at the Chaves County jail.
