Hobbs Woman Killed Friday in Drive-By Shooting

      HOBBS — Hobbs police are investigating a fatal drive-by shooting that claimed a woman's life early Friday.
    Police responded at 3 a.m. to a shots fired call in the 1100 block of East Llano Drive.
    Police learned the shooter or shooters fired numerous rounds through the walls of a home with one bullet striking 43-year-old Elodia Navarette.
    She was transported to Lea Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
    The victim is the mother of 18-year-old Jacob Navarette. He was shot and killed in August 2009.
