State Police Arrest Suspect in Española Shooting Death

Associated Press
ESPANOLA — State Police say a 31-year-old Española man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in a public housing development in the city.
They said Jose Rizo was taken into custody in the Santa Fe area around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday without incident.
He is accusing of shooting 56-year-old Anthony Garcia when a dispute broke out Saturday at the housing site off McCurdy Road.
Preliminary charges of murder, shooting at or from a vehicle and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon have been filed against Rizo.
Authorities say Garcia suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead after been rushed to the Española Valley Medical Center after the shooting.
