Road Projects for Farmington Pushed by Planners

Associated Press
FARMINGTON — Planners say the Farmington area needs between $150 million and $207 million in new roads, bridges, bike and walking paths.
The Farmington Metropolitan Planning Organization is responsible for transportation planning in local cities and San Juan County.
It just wrapped up a plan that recommends construction of several new roads and expanding existing ones throughout Farmington and the surrounding area.
Planners also recommend construction of bike and walking paths that connect Farmington, Aztec and Bloomfield.
Engineers said the projects are needed over the next 25 years to accommodate population growth and to ease traffic and travel.
The public is invited to comment on the plan at 10 a.m. March 25 at Bloomfield City Hall.
