State Investment Council OK's $15 Million for New Film
Associated Press
SANTA FE The State Investment Council approves a $15 million loan for a film called "The Book of Eli," starring Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman.
The film will shoot in New Mexico for a couple of months starting in February.
With a projected cost of about $74 million, it's the biggest-budget film that the investment council has loaned money for.
It will be shot in Albuquerque, Alamogordo, Carrizozo and Santa Fe, and released in January 2010.
It's expected to provide jobs for at least 139 crew members from New Mexico.
